The Hancock County Humane Society encourages all pet owners to spay or neuter their pets, and help us decrease the number of unwanted animals that end up in shelters. In February, central Indiana residents have a great opportunity to obtain this service at a special rate through Spay-Neuter Services of Indiana. Please visit http://www.spayneuterservices.org/feboct.htm for a special certificate program, and instructions for how to make your appointment. Wondering how this will affect your pet, or have concerns? Answers to some common questions can be found in this great article at http://www.petfinder.com/pet-health/why-spay-or-neuter.html .
Availability of appointments through this program may fill up fast, so take advantage of it now, and do your part to control the pet population this spring!

Craigslist has a poodle mix boy that they say was placed with you. I have someone interested in him. But your petfinder site has no dogs at all. What's the deal? I've never heard of a Humane society shelter for cats only.
ReplyDeleteHi... we are a small, all volunteer-run shelter and at this time can house cats and kittens only. The Craigslist poster may be referring to the county-run Hancock Co. Animal Management facility, which does house dogs. They are also in Greenfield and you can find them on Petfinder as well (listed as Greenfield-Hancock Animal Management). However, it might be best to give them a call during daytime hours if you're looking for a specific pet.
